What is melasma?

Melasma is also known as cholasma or “mask of pregnancy”. It is a condition in which brown patches appears on the face. Melasma can be due to hormonal changes during pregnancy or from sun exposure.

Women are more likely to develop this condition. It causes patches of discoloration. The patches are darker than usual skin color. It commonly occurs on face.

Symptoms

The symptoms of melasma are:
